Kai and Grandpa Davies (April's dad)
Our beautiful boy
It's the Amazing Standing Boy!!!
The Taylors
April-

Well, a lot has happened over the past couple of weeks. Kai is now able to pull himself to standing, and this afternoon he managed to climb the first three stairs of our staircase. Suffice it to say, the days of putting him down and finding him in the same spot were VERY short lived. Now, the house is a mess, and I spend the better part of the day running behind him making sure he doesn't pull the cats tail, putting back everything he pulls down or out, and generally making sure he lives to see his first birthday. We are having a ball though. He is such an affectionate little boy. He loves to cuddle, and he has an infectious little giggle.  Every time he sees Zach, he shouts and squeals with glee, it is really awesome. Zach's not used to getting that kind of reception simply for walking into a room. I guess I should be working on that. It just isn't the same when I squeal and jump up and down though. Hmmmm.

My dad came for a quick visit, which was great. He is wonderful with babies, and he and Kai really hit it off. We continue with our playgroups and kindermusik and other social activities. We will be going to some Halloween parties this weekend (no I haven't done a costume for him yet. Yes, I am THAT mommy, the last minute one. Oh, well, he won't care this year).

Next week we are heading to California to visit Zach's sister, and our dear friends Graham and Perky and their daughter Makella. Our other beloved friends Kristi and Evan and baby Lucia have moved back out there for the winter, so we will get to see them as well which is wonderful because it makes it feel like they haven't been gone very long. We try to make this trip at least once a year, sometimes we make it twice. This will be special because Jenny and Sally, and Graham and Perky haven't met Kai yet, and these are some of the most important people in our lives. We are so excited to get there, a little less excited about the flight. We bought Kai his own seat (kids under 2 get a fabulous discount) because just the thought of holding that bouncing ball of energy across the county exhausts me.  We won't post again until we get back, which will be in the middle of November.

GO RED SOX!!!!! If they win tonight, they sweep the Series! Wouldn't that just be amazing!

Love to you all
