April:
Well, as you can see, Kai is just getting cuter and cuter. He is running, talking ("no" and "mama" being his 2 current favorite words), and doing everything a toddler should. He is also really great at sign language, ,a skill that has reduced a great deal of frustration for everyone. He is funny, sweet, loving, exasperating, and loved beyond words. We had a wonderful 10 day trip to the gulf coast of Texas, where my mom and her partner Polly have a house. It was a blast. Kai loved being with his 2 grandmothers and Zach and I enjoyed having a little free time with all the babysitting. We are home now, and spring is coming to Vermont at last. We have daffodils, peepers (singing frogs), budding trees and many of the migratory birds are back. Kai is very busy discovering the great outdoors in a whole new way now that he can walk. The last time he saw the ground without snow, he was still working on crawling!
So we continue our happy life as a little family, while we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Kai's sister-to-be. Our dossier is in Kazakhstan being translated, and we are now officially waiting for our baby girl to present herself to us. We can't wait to find out who she is! In the meantime, this is the summer off babies! We used to have a lot of weddings to go to (in 2003, we were invited to 11 and went to 7) but this summer we anticipate the arrival of 6 babies, 2 of whom will be our nieces or nephews. It is so wonderful to have all these dear friends and family members who have children who are the same age as ours!
Anyway, not too much to report, mostly we just wanted to post some new photos. Enjoy!
