April:
First thing first. I wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the overwhelming support we have received from so many people. There are not enough hours in the day to reply to you all, although we will try, but we wanted you to know that you all have made us feel like we are not alone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You made us laugh, cry and realize that we are by no means the only ones to have had a bad experience. As you may have noticed, we removed the post temporarily for the safety of our family while we are here, but will re-post it once we are home with ALL the details as well as WPA's response to the situation. They have requested "equal time" and we are happy to give it to them. It seems only fair.
In light of all the real tragedies occuring around the world, we would like to think of other things. The people in New Orleans, Baghdad, and the Sudan have problems, we hit a pebble in the road.
We had a nice, but uneventful day today. More lovely encounters with neighbors and friends. We got hold of Aika (the girl from Tekeli) and we are heading up there on Sunday to visit her and meet her parents. We would like to present ourselves to them so they know we are good people and that should we be fortunate enough to get Aika a visa, she will be in good hands with us in the states. We are bringing pictures from home and other gifts and food. So hopefully it will be a celebration. I can't wait to meet the people who produced that adorable, sweet creature!
So, one year ago today we were on our way back to Almaty with legal custody of Kai. A great, great day in our lives!! We LOVE that little boy and are so thankful for every circumstance that led us to him. We are so honored to be his parents.
OK, not too much news. We are doing well, in large part because of all of you. I literally cannot tell you how packed our in-box has been! We feel honored to know you and are so happy to hear from those of you who are introducing yourselves for the first time.
Love to you all!
