Day 19: August 22, 2005
Wow, good bubble daddy!
The only way she wanted to be carried.
Self portrait. She looks like she's pleading for help!
I couldn't find the camera when they were doing sand angels.
So, it is down to you, and it is down to me.
Listening to daddy play the piano.
This one's for Oma and Grandpa Jeff. I'm coming your way, look out!
April:

Hey folks, sorry for the late post. We just weren't up to it last night. All we wanted to do was eat watermelon, drink vodka and watch a movie. So that's what we did.

It was so great to see Gracie yesterday! She was teething and cranky in the morning but we were able to comfort her which was wonderful and when she went down for her nap she was content. The afternoon was a different story. She came out of the starting gate raring to go. She was happy, giggly, chatty and on the move! She did about 8 "steps" of real up-on-her-knees crawling and was scooting all over the place. She was smiling and looking deeply into our eyes. In the morning, she wouldn't really look at us, maybe punishment for being gone, I don't know. Anyway, we had a ball.

I went to the bathhouse with Aida in the evening. Dry sauna, pool, wet sauna, pool, massage, wet sauna, pool, wet sauna (with beating by oak leaves), pool, dry sauna, pool. Then we wash. You take your time washing and the other women do your back for you and the backs of your arms. Everybody sits around scrubbing themselves and chatting. It is such a sweet feminine experience. Women of all ages from 3-90 washing each others backs, helping one another in and out of the saunas, laughing and chatting. I love that place.

Kai has been hilarious the last couple of days and last night he FINALLY slept through the night!!!!! It only took 3 weeks but we are back on course. Just in time to bring Grace home and mess it all up again. Ha!

Well folks, it is Tuesday morning here, Monday evening where you are and tomorrow (Wednesday) is court!! If all goes well we will become Grace's legal parents and get custody of her!! Woohooo! We have court at 9:30am (although last year the judge was 1 1/2 late so who knows when it will actually be). But we will post the good news when we are done. Also, we'll post tonight (23rd) so everything is back up to speed in the journal.

lots of love
