Day 3
Even with her butt wedged in the potty, she smiles.
Beautiful Grandmother and Granddaughter
MMMpppfffhhmmfffffff!!!!!!!
Hey kid, I'll show you the ropes.
Mama has a nose!
Toddlers pushing toddlers. (p.s. some of these kids were in Kai's group last year. Makes you think)
Daddy's chin is prickly but his kisses are soft.
Grandma, my very own grandma.
Brrrummmbrrrruuummm.
Mommy, daddy can I go on the scary, rusty Soviet-era tilt-a-whirl?
Zachary:

We're not over our jet lag yet, so we put up a lot of photos for your entertainment. I got up about 6 a.m., learned how to say "I would like three diapers, size three please" in Russian, went to the store and used my new, all important phrase.  I fell asleep during our afternoon visit with Rowan. Turns out she's quite a ham. April gor her to laugh and smile. We have a couple of great children. I couldn't be happier.
Lots of love to all.

Molly;

I would like to tell you more than I have the stamina to do tonight.
It is so moving to watch Rowan and her parents trying to approach each other.  She seemed more open this morning than yesterday.  I imagine that a few hours of hugs and intense focus has helped her already.  But then I'm staggering from sleep deprivation and have no judgement.
I can tell you that Z and A are patient and wonderful,  that Kai is a character,  and Rowan is -- who knows what Rowan is.  I was amazed at how much she was verbalizing this morning, she is clearly bright and likes to smile.

Kai and I ate ice cream this afternoon and we loved it !

love to you

April:
Well today was full and wonderful. This morning's visit was nice, although it is always a little distracting to have Kai there as one of us has to leap up to stop him from running down the driveway/impaling himself on re-bar/drinking puddle water. You get the picture. We are in for exciting times! We had fun though. Kai played a little with some kids from a toddler group, a few of whom I recognized from his group last year. Sad to see them still here. Rowan was so chatty and adorable this morning. She just watched in fascination as we shared a watermelon wit Aida and Gulnara. Kai LOVES watermelon and just buries his little face right in.

This afternoon's visit was amazing for me. Mom stayed back with Kai so She had our undivided attention. She giggled, and laughed and talked a blue streak. She was cuddly and lovely and amazing. Zach fell asleep on the grass and she would lean over and pat him. She likes to feel people's faces and she loves being kissed. If you want a belly laugh from her, just kiss her cheeks and belly.

Kai is the only one of us successfully getting over his jet-lag. Probably because he has three people making sure he gets exactly what he needs at all times. He is having a great time and has been such a love. He definitely has moments when he is worried about what's going on, and he likes to have us in sight at all times, but he is happy to be at the babyhouse and he loves being treated like a rock star by everybody.

We are starting to really connect with Rowan. It feels great. She is so sweet and charming. She is fascinated by Kai. He is not particularly interested in her, but that's because there is so much else to see. He did try to feed her a bottle of juice and gave her some nice gentle pats on the head. Then he went and bounced a ball (a soft one) off another kids head. We don't call him Genghis Kai for nothing!

Love to you all!
