April:
Sorry it has taken us so long to update the site. We had major computer issues that are too boring to go into. Anyway, we're back. It has been an incredible first month home. Kai has been adjusting really well. Here are some of the highlights.
He cut his first tooth. Actually, he cut three at once, poor guy.
He has had at least 5 nights of sleeping all the way through the night, without waking up, from 7:30 pm to 6 am. But only if I don't mess with his nap schedule, which I do almost everyday.
He has taken some real crawling steps.
He has started Kindermusik, playgroup and has been to a few parties.
He snuggles into our necks and wraps his arms around our necks tightly! We love this new development.
He laughs so hard at his daddy he gives himself the hiccups.
He can feed himself Cheerios.
He can make a "t" sound.
He has had his first cold, at least his first with us.
As we speak, he is overtired and playing on the floor after kindermusik. If he falls asleep for even 10 minutes in the car, his nap schedule goes all to hell. This usually means that I spend the better part of the afternoon pushing him around the greater East Corinth area in the hopes that he will fall asleep. It works, but it means about a 2 1/2 hour walk for me. Needless to say, my butt is getting into great shape. However it does mean that there is no break for mommy all day long, which gets a little exhausting. We may have to drop a few activities, or not go visiting as much otherwise mommy turns into a grumpy she-bear. It's hard to be upset at such a good natured fellow though.
We have seen lots of friends and relatives in the last month. This weekend my father has a couple of days off from working at the Metropolitan Opera (he's a conductor), so he is coming up to Vermont to meet his newest grandson for the first time. We are very excited. We had hoped to see him on our way through Germany, but airport security would not let him into the area where our gate was.
We are having a glorious fall here! The weather has turned cold, and on some nights you can smell winter coming. We have been firing up the woodstove and staying cozy.
Oops sorry, gotta go. Kai just fell over and bonked his head. Ii think he'll live, but I better make sure!
Love to you all!
